What is ABLUR 2.0

One-liner: Easy and fast webtoon background creation program for webtoon creators

Vision

  • Easy-to-use 3D tool for webtoon creators

Mission

  • Make the webtoon background process 10x easier while maintaining quality
Target customer: Individual webtoon creators
  • Who?
    • Creators who handle the entire process of storyboarding, line drawing, backgrounds, post-processing, and editing by themselves
    • Creators who do below process when working on backgrounds
        1. Buy SketchUp files,
        1. Open them in SketchUp, set up the composition and render,
        1. Then import into Clip Studio and do post-processing
  • Who not?
    • Amateur creators (who don't earn money from webtoons)
    • Creators who don't subscribe to SketchUp
    • Studio creators
    • Illustrators
Problem: The program used for creating webtoon backgrounds(SketchUp) is too expensive, and its usability and performance are poor.
  1. SketchUp program subscription cost ($349/yr)
    1. Various Ruby (extensions) that need to be purchased additionally (estimated at about $120)
  1. Usability of SketchUp program
    1. Too many unnecessary features for webtoon creators
    2. Webtoon-specific features are only provided through extensions
    3. Low quality of UX
  1. Need to use two tools for backgrounds and it takes long process
    1. SketchUp + Clip Studio
Solution: Create a program with good usability and performance specifically for webtoon creators and provide it at half the price.
  1. Webtoon background-specific features
  1. Good usability
  1. Performance (by using Unreal Engine)
  1. Affordable price (about half of SketchUp)
